The birth of an ordering App
In April 2024, our participation in Devoxx Athens as coffee sponsors led to the creation of the/experts Coffee App. Recognizing the need to streamline the coffee ordering process during the conference, our team in Athens developed a tool to eliminate queues and facilitate baristas in preparing accurate orders while efficiently tracking daily coffee usage. The Coffee App’s development and successful deployment marked only the beginning. Witnessing its tangible benefits and realizing its broader potential, the/experts has been asked to evolve and adapt the solution for large-scale events like expositions, where effective queue management is essential.
The Future of the App
The new solution will extend beyond Coffee. A menu-building functionality will enable administrators to offer customers a diverse selection of beverages, snacks, and other items. Customers will also receive email notifications when their orders are registered and ready for pickup, improving convenience and satisfaction.
Furthermore, this solution is designed to support delivery options in addition to pickups, making it ideal for expos. Catering companies can map event spaces and deliver orders directly to booths, a valuable feature for wholesale exhibitions where visitors spend extended periods at specific locations.
The future plans include among other functionalities a customization for corporate canteens and malls with multiple restaurants sharing a common sitting area.
